Secret Fat Burning Foods
The purpose of all well-designed weight loss plans should be to burn fat while maintaining muscle. This can be done to a degree, but only with two important key elements: exercise and proper nutrition.
The only way you can expect to lose fat without giving up lots of muscle is by eating well. Very, very well. This article has a secret list of my favourite fat burning foods, which are very important because not only will they provide essential nutrients, but they will allow you to lose weight while you eat them (And exercise, of course!). Make sure you're getting at least 5 small meals a day in order to keep your metabolism speedy and efficient!
- Lean Protein: This should be the number one item on any list of nutritious foods. This can be found in lean cuts of red meat, chicken, and fish. I would recommend fish the most, as there are omega-3 oils that are very good- you won’t be able to find this in any regular meat.
- Egg White: Egg whites have virtually no fat and tons of protein. You can fry, bake or poach them and make white omelettes, or buy them separately. Of course, you can always separate it yourself, if you’re handy in the kitchen.
- Green Vegetables: Lettuce, green beans, broccoli, celery, and so on are green, fibrous vegetables. They not only have fibre, but they also have other nutrients and many important vitamins. You should include at least some portion of these in every single meal.
- Cottage Cheese: Low Fat cottage cheese is a great source of casein and the same dairy protein you can get from milk. Casein slows down the absorption process of sugar, which helps to avoid spikes of insulin in the blood stream.
- Other Veggies: Peppers, tomatoes, peas, corn, cucumbers, carrots, and so on have fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals- all the basic building blocks you need to be healthy. These should be in anyone’s diet, regardless of fat loss goals.
- Whey Isolate Protein: This is high on the list of fat burning foods- This is available in both powdered and solid form. This is a great source of the proteins that have the highest value to your body. It’s useful in powdered form because within 15 minutes of exercise, your body will be able to metabolize nutrients the fastest. Therefore, taking a protein shake with you will make an incredible difference.
- Fruit: Just remember: High fibre, low sugar. Whole fruits can be very healthy as long as you don’t collect too much sugar from them. They are also way up there on the glycemic index, which can cause insulin spikes- This is what makes casein so important. Make sure you pick fruits that are low on the index to avoid this type of effect.
- Oatmeal: Good fibre, no insulin spikes, and complex carbohydrates. What’s not to love?
- Skim Milk: Dairy products such as this contain casein and very little fat. It also lines the stomach for several hours and delivers the protein over this time, which allows a consistent supply of nutrients throughout the day.
