How to Lose Fat - The Basics
The only way to lose fat is to burn it. There’s no way around this! The trick is to use more calories than you take in throughout the day- basically, the more you eat, the more you have to work. If you don’t burn this off during the day those calories are ingested, they’ll most likely be stored as fat. Therefore, the only way to really reduce your body fat is to increase your activity levels and decrease your caloric intake.
Again, the more fat you want to lose the greater number of calories you have to burn. Read that sentence again, remember it! It’s the only way you’ll find success in your fitness goals. There’s also a few other tips that have been learned throughout the past couple decades in the weight loss industry- I’m here to give you a couple.
The first thing you need to do is speed up your metabolism. The more active you are, the faster your metabolism will be, and this needs to be done quickly if you want to lose that stomach fat.
Your metabolism has a large degree of control of your weight, but what most people don’t know is that you can fine-tune it to aid your ‘rapid fat loss’ goal. The most basic way of doing so is by exercising as much as possible early in the day- Right when you get up (Breakfast first!). More activity early in the day = faster metabolic rate. I don’t mean for you to jump right into an advanced weight training routine right away though; Make sure you do this gradually and in the safest manner you possibly can for yourself. The last thing you want to do is injure yourself!
The next important thing to do is to take a serious and critical look at your diet, and ensure that it’s balanced and healthy. Eat a variety of food from every major food group, but look for complex carbohydrates and protein in particular. Clean sources of this can be found in fish, chicken, and so on. Low fat dairy products are also an excellent part of your diet- In fact, chocolate milk will be better for you right after a workout than any sports drink such as Gatorade. As for during your workout and throughout the day: Tons and tons of water! Always have a bottle with you.
Another quick tip is to stop eating food simply because it tastes good, especially when you’re full. Exerting a degree of self control and willpower to help cut out the junk food throughout your day will do wonders all on its own!
Also ensure that you get a full 8 hours of sleep per night. Poor sleeping habits will slow your metabolism and cut out your chances of burning fat fast. You should be able to exercise to muscle exhaustion when you get active, which will help you lower your fat content and keep your metabolism rate high- This won’t be possible if you hardly sleep!
Finally, do not check the scale every day. Don’t obsess about your fitness! Don’t stop eating for any period of time because you overate. Make your fitness a part of your regular routine, enjoy today, and look to tomorrow- In just a few weeks, you will see a very noticeable change in your body and outlook!
